DAFB public affairs team, DSN celebrate Airlifter honor

Earlier this year, the Airlifter was named the top print publication in the 2017 U.S. Air Force Media contest.

The edition recognized was the Sept. 2, 2017, edition that featured extensive coverage and photos from the Dover Air Force Base open house. The elite U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds performed at the event.

Airmen from the Dover Air Force Base public affairs team and members of the Delaware State News celebrated the award recently at the Green Turtle Restaurant in Dover.

In a message to the Delaware State News, Dover Air Force Base Commander Col. Joel W. Safranek wrote, “On behalf of Team Dover, I would like to express my sincere congratulations on winning ‘Best Newspaper in the Air Force’ in the 2017 Air Force Media Contest. Your partnership with the 436^th Airlift Wing Public Affairs Team helps tell the Air Force story to our Dover community every week. Thank you for your professionalism and dedication to keeping our community informed.”

The Airlifter is published by the Delaware State News in partnership with Dover Air Force Base. The base provides all of the editorial and photography, and the Delaware State News designs, prints and distributes the newspaper weekly.
