"What a wonderful article about the proposed regional park in the Independent today. Thank you for the Superstition Area Land Trust coverage. Since SALT is stepping up to be the 'voice for conservation in the central Sonoran Desert,' this area is very important to us. After one has been working on a concept for 10 years, it's wonderful to see it come into reality. Often with a conservation organization the people don't see on the ground results for years, so it's good for people to see when it has finally happened and know that we are always working on something to conserve the beauty and natural health of our area around the Superstitions. Excellent Customer Service

I received a call from a customer that our “Lobby Lady”,  Yvonne Kirksey had just assisted over the phone.  She was in need of an obituary that had ran and she could  not locate it. She was so upset.  Yvonne took care of this and located exactly what she wanted.  The lady  then asked to speak to me so she could tell me  how helpful,  kind, sympathetic and wonderful Yvonne had treated her.  “She could not have been any nicer” were her exact words.   Thank you Yvonne for providing excellent customer service every time and treating everyone that walks through our front door or on the phone with a smile and words of kindness.

Congratulations to Zachery and Caden

Zachery David Weston graduated from Gilbert High School in Rockford IL on May 28, 2015. Zac has enlisted in the Marines and will be heading to boot camp on June 23.

Zac was rewarded with a crab dinner at Bob Chen’s in Wheeling IL.

Caden Terry Crotzer, age 6 graduated from Kindergarten on May 21^st in a ceremony at Avalon Charter School.

Both are grandsons to Deb & Terry Crotzer. Deb works in the East Valley office in Apache Junction, AZ as a graphic artist

There is a nasty new ransomware attack supposedly being a resume. Please pass this on to all your employees that could fall for this scam.

Warning: there is a ransomware phishing attack going on which uses attachments with fake girl resumes, and this attack also uses compromised websites to infect your computer.  

Do NOT open any attachments that look anything like a zipped resume, and be careful to not go to unknown websites.  Make sure your Malwarebytes is up to date.

Just the Beginning - Congratulations

Kieley Marie Moore, age 6, recently graduated Kindergarten from McIlvaine Early Childhood Center in Magnolia, DE. The graduation ceremony was held at Caesar Rodney High School. Kieley is the granddaughter of Sharon Harvey, Ad Support Manager at the Delaware State News. Kieley celebrated by having lunch at McDonalds right after the ceremony.

Printing - A+++++ Probably the best job we have ever received.  I have never seen the detail and the colors as vibrant as this week!!!  Registration was excellent.

Bundles - A… neatly stacked… none found with missing inserts.  Well done!

Strapping - B… good job centering the straps but on the majority of bundles, the vertical strap was over top of the horizontal strap, which is bad.  This makes it more difficult to lift the bundles. The horizontal strap should always be on top of the vertical strap.

Pallets - A… very well stacked… pallet wrap looked great…. stacked the proper height… good job all around.

Delivery - A… even with bad traffic, Donald still made it down before the 2pm deadline.  He does a great job!

The paper looked absolutely awesome this week!  Couldn't ask for more.

Congratulations to Scott Taylor, INI's East Valley Office

Scott was nominated as Volunteer of the Year by the Apache Junction Chamber of Commerce for its annual awards honoring members who give of their time for the betterment of the community. Scott volunteers as the facilitator for the chamber’s Tuesday Morning Lost Dutchman Leads group, a position he has held for three consecutive years. He also serves on the committee for the Festival of the Superstitions, an annual communitywide event. A gifted artist himself, Scott is a founding member, current member and past president of the Superstition Arts & Cultural Alliance, which helps promote arts and cultural events in the area. He also sits on the planning committee for the EarthHeart Park Bazaar, a monthly event comprised of a farmers market, arts groups and organizations that promote healthy lifestyles. While Scott did not receive the award, we feel his nomination was well-deserved. Our office thanks Scott for his contributions to the community in which we serve and for his exemplary representation of Independent Newspapers.

We Won!

Team Independent Thinkers -- composed of staff from INI's East and North Valley offices in Arizona -- won a citywide trivia contest last night, June 2, in Apache Junction, beating its own scores from earlier qualifying rounds. The contest was streamed on http://sky7radio.com/city-challenge/. The team won a trophy that it will display at the East Valley office for the year, while individual team members will each receive a memento to commemorate the win. The team let out a whoop and cheered upon hearing it had won.

A Day Of Fun For A Good Cause

The Delaware State News was pleased to again show their support for the Harrington ERA Golf Fundraising Tournament.  This year’s event raised more than $40,000 in support of many local non-profit organizations including the Boys & Girls Club of Delaware, The Elizabeth W. Murphey School, the American Heart Association and the Cen-Del Foundation…just to name a few.  State News VP of Advertising Development Tonda Parks put together two foursomes of local business people to golf and network for the afternoon.  Our CEO Ed Dulin joined Mike Harrington Sr. along with Dave Collins and Chris Trick from the ERA Corporation office on their team.  Check out Ed’s fancy golf pants (second from left)… no doubt worn to distract the other golfers on his team…although Mike’s pants were certainly equally distracting.  Makes you wonder who played the best on their team, doesn’t it?
