ANNIVERSARY PROFILE
40 YEARS
Name: Sharon Harvey
Newspaper: Delaware State News
Position: Advertising Consultant
Number of years in the newspaper or printing business: 40 years
Job description: I do the servicing of almost all of the Real Estate accounts and handle retail accounts as well. I am responsible for inserting ads in the Dining Out Directory, which runs every Friday in the Delaware State News, and the monthly Delmarva Real Estate publication as well. My job also includes making sales calls to acquire new accounts.
What I like best (about my job): I get along so well with my customers that it seems like we have known one another most of our lives. I also like the fact that I am always busy and there is no time to get bored.
Most memorable moment with INI: There have been many but the one that comes to me off the top of my head was many years ago when I worked in page composition and knocked my Exacto knife off the ledge of the paste-up bank. It went through the top of my sneaker and into my big toe. Boy, did that hurt and boy, did I feel stupid!
Hobbies/Interests: Playing with “Fuzzball” (my 1-1/2 year old Pomeranian). I also like to read, crochet, or watch TV in my spare time.
Fun fact (about myself): I have 2 sons. William is 30 years old and Brandon is 26 years old. I have 2 granddaughters, 4 year old Arianna and 5 month old Kieley (William’s daughters). I love to watch reruns of “I Love Lucy”. I never get tired of them. I also collect I Love Lucy memorabilia.
