Ashley Smith
New part-time staffer Ashley Smith has been working in newspaper production for about two and half months at the Clewiston office.
“As news clerk, Ashley and has become a very dependable member of our staff,” stated News Editor Jose Zaragoza.
She is responsible for mining and processing copy for The Sun and the Clewiston News, in addition to paginating.
“I love my job,” said Ashley. “I enjoy building the pages and I love the friendly environment.”
Ashley maintains close communication with Okeechobee, namely Dee Hamilton, who gathers copy for the Glades County Democrat as well as state and regional stories.
“I feel that here, we all work together pretty well,” said Ashley. “Everyone is willing to help.”
She often volunteers to cover events and supply us with pictures and she turns almost mundane occurrences into opportunities to display photographic flair.
