In
June 2019, Joe Smyth was surprised with a draft drawing of himself during his
visit to the Dover office. The drawing was done to recognize Joe’s
long-term commitment and leadership in growing the company. The portrait
is now done and hangs next to that of Jack Smyth, Independent’s founder. Employees
who have seen the portrait have all commented that the portrait “looks exactly
like Joe” or saying “wow, what a good likness of Joe”.
