Congratulations To Richard Dyer

Richard Dyer, managing editor at the Apache Junction/Gold Canyon, Mesa and Queen Creek/San Tan Valley Independent newspapers, celebrated his 28th anniversary with INI on Aug. 13 by bringing in five pies for everyone to enjoy. The office of six people over two days ate the country apple, coconut cream, key lime, peach and pecan pies. The photo is of posters made by Wendy Miller to honor the anniversary.

Special presentation from Buffalo Soldiers

Roy Walker, past president of the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club of Delaware, presented a plaque to the Delaware State News on Monday, Aug. 10.

Accepting were Yvonne Kirksey, our customer service specialist at the front desk, and Andrew West, managing editor.

Mr. Walker recognized Yvonne Kirksey for her help in getting information about the club to the newsroom, and in turn, our readers. As he noted, “you’re the first person I see when I come in!”
